...HIGH RISK FOR EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR WITH ANY NEW FIRE STARTS THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY DUE TO MODERATE TO LOCALLY STRONG SANTA ANA WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY... .No changes from previous statement. Moderate to locally strong Santa Ana winds will quickly develop on Thursday, peak Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon, then slowly weaken through the weekend. Red Flag Warnings are in effect for most of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties Thursday through Saturday, and for interior Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties for Friday. * AFFECTED AREA....The mountains and foothills of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. * TIMING...Until 8 PM PDT Saturday. * WINDS...Northeast to east 20 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 to 70 mph, strongest Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimums of 10 to 25 percent common. * IMPACTS...If fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life and property.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Use extreme caution with anything that can spark a wildfire. Residents near wildland interfaces should be prepared to evacuate if a wildfire breaks out. See readyforwildfire.org and wildfirerisk.org for information.
