Sources and attributions

EstadoNieve produces no data: it collects them from public sources and presents them together. This page says where each item comes from, on what terms it is used and how to ask for something to be removed.

Snow reports, runs and lifts

• Resorts that publish open data or their own information services, such as Sierra Nevada (Cetursa Sierra Nevada, S.A.) and the resorts of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), through its open data portal and pirineu365. The data belong to each resort.
• ATUDEM (the Spanish association of ski and mountain resorts), for Spanish resorts that publish no open data: we take its snow report, compiled from what each resort sends it.
• OnTheSnow, for resorts outside Spain: daily snow report, resort photos and some webcams, with the data that the resorts themselves provide.

Each resort page states which source the report comes from and when it was read. The data belong to their owners; EstadoNieve only reproduces and organises them.

Weather

The weather forecast and the data by altitude come from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), which provides them under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com.

Access roads

• Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT), Spanish Ministry of the Interior: incidents and traffic cameras on access roads in Spain, taken from its real-time traffic information service. The cameras belong to the DGT.
• Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT), Government of Catalonia: incidents and cameras on the roads of Catalonia (and some roads into Andorra), taken from the Generalitat's open data. The cameras belong to the SCT.

Both bodies publish these data for reuse; they are credited here and on every page where they are shown.

Live webcams

Webcams belong to the resort or to the provider that publishes them (feratel, Roundshot, Panomax, ipcamlive and others). EstadoNieve takes the image the resort already makes public on its website and displays it through its own server, which keeps a temporary copy for a few minutes so that visitors are not exposed to third parties; it keeps no image history. Each webcam states which resort it belongs to and how old the last image seen is.

Photos and trail maps

• Wikimedia Commons: resort photos under Creative Commons licences (CC BY, CC BY-SA), CC0 or in the public domain. Each resort page shows the author, the licence and the link to the original, as those licences require.
• Promotional material from the resorts themselves, supplied through OnTheSnow or published on their websites: photos and trail maps, credited to the resort. They belong to each resort.
• Trail maps are displayed or linked from each resort's website, where they are published.

Maps, activities and reference data

• OpenStreetMap: summer activities (trails, mountain biking, via ferratas, viewpoints) and some location data come from OpenStreetMap through Overpass and Nominatim. © OpenStreetMap contributors, data under the ODbL licence.
• Wikidata: official websites and resort coordinates, under the CC0 licence.
• NASA: the image of the Earth on the home page globe is NASA's Blue Marble, in the public domain.

Removal of content

If you own a resort, a webcam, a photo or any other content shown on EstadoNieve and do not want it displayed, or believe it is being used outside the terms of its licence, write to help@estadonieve.com stating the page. We will remove or correct it promptly.
