Avalanche danger

Today · Thu 15 Oct2 · Moderate

Windslabs will build on Thursday night and Friday as new snow gets distributed by strong southerly winds. As they will be forming on slopes that face north, mostly they will be landing on previous bare ground which will not be an avalanche problem. However, hazard may exist in areas where the wind loads previous slopes. This will be higher elevations, probably above 2100m.There is a lot of uncertainty about the amount of snow on Friday. Hazard will be moderate if the current forecast for 10-15cm happens. Hazard may go to considerable if more than 20cm falls.
